RAYMOND WEIL have been a proud sponsor of the Nordoff Robbins Silver Clef Awards for 12 years, please view the video below to see why RAYMOND WEIL and countless A-list celebrities chose to support Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy.

This year’s O2 Silver Clef Awards proved to be a very successful event all round.  The lunch raised an amazing total of £425,000 for Nordoff Robbins and was attended by the cream of the music industry!!

The guest list included stars such as Kylie Minogue, Sir Tom Jones, Tinie Tempah, Jessie J, Andrew Lloyd-Webber, Emeli Sande, Conor Maynard, Alfie Boe, Jo Whiley, Annie Mac and Peter Kay who was chosen by Michael Buble to present his award.

In typical fashion the event kicked off with a Champagne reception for the guests while I camped out in the media room awaiting the stars for the red carpet. Once the celebrities had done the rounds of interviews, posing in front of the sponsored branded boards and been briefed on the proceedings everyone was able to take their place and enjoy the sumptuous three-course lunch while the Awards began.

First up on stage was Alfie Boe to present Laura Wright with the Classical Award, one which he had won himself the previous year. Next up Sir Tom Jones who presented Jessie J with the Best British Act Award, Jessie thanked Tom by calling him ‘Bruv’.  Jessie stayed on stage as she was chosen by Sir Andrew Lloyd-Webber to present him with the Lifetime Achievement Award, she refrained from calling ALW ‘Bruv’. The last Award before the auction went to the pixie-sized pop idol that is Kylie Minogue who received the 25th Anniversary Silver Clef Award giving a very emotional speech! (I may have been a little emotional to be so close to the artist whose album was the first I bought. #80sgirl).

The interval is filled by an auction with gifts donated by the various sponsors of the event, it is always a fun affair with the auctioneer Nick trying to squeeze as much money he can from the celebrities and record label bosses.  RAYMOND WEIL donated a limited edition Freelancer watch from this year’s BRIT Awards and a VIP night out at the O2 arena to see Jessie J perform, Jessie also kindly agreed to do a meet and greet and signed the watch box too.  Nick begun the auction for our package and after a series of bids Mr. Michael Buble, on the table next to us, entered the bidding.  To everyone’s delight Michael pushed the bids up to a very healthy amount before the person he was bidding against dropped out, Michael then continued to carry bidding against himself until he settled upon a £10,000 donation. Michael proved himself to be a very generous guy that day as he also bid a huge amount for a meet and greet with HIMSELF!

It was back to business after the auction as the second half of the Awards commenced, the Best Live Act award, which was voted for by the public, (I plumped for Coldplay), was won by McFly who thanked everyone via a video link. Next up was our award, the RAYMOND WEIL International Artist Award, which readers will know was won by Michael Buble.  Our Brand Director Craig Leach joined Peter Kay up on stage to present Michael with his award however the presentation was held up slightly by a very funny ten minute comedy performance from Peter.  Once Michael was on stage he and gave Peter Kay some vitty retorts as he proudly collected his award, he seemed a genuinely nice guy!

More awards followed including the Innovation Award which was handed by Tinie Tempah to Emeli Sande, yes she was wearing her Jasmine watch! Conor Maynard won Best Newcomer, Manic Street Preachers received the Ambassadors of Rock Award while Fat Boy Slim won the Icon Award!

It was such an amazing day made all the more special by the enthusiastic generosity from Michael Buble amongst many others resulting in a terrific amount being raised for the outstanding charity Nordoff Robbins.

Stay tuned for more photo's and video from the day!!!

The countdown begins!  It's five days until the Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards lunch and auction and more exciting news is beginning to emerge as we draw closer to the date.

On Friday the news broke that Kylie Minogue is to be honoured with the coveted 25th anniversary O2 Silver Clef Award and joins the Hall of Fame which includes music big-hitters such as Annie Lennox, Muse, Take That, Elton John, Queen, Coldplay and The Rolling Stones amongst others.  Kylie is thrilled to receive the Award stating “I am thrilled and honoured to be receiving the 25th Anniversary O2 Silver Clef Award from Nordoff Robbins. The work that Nordoff Robbins does, using music therapy to transform the lives of vulnerable children and adults is amazing. This will be a special event and I am delighted to be able to attend and reunite with many friends too.”

Another announcement that we are excited about is the American Express Innovation Award which is to be won by RAYMOND WEIL fan Emeli Sande.  Last year Jasmine wearer Emeli presented Tinie Tempah with this Award a favour that will be returned on Friday.

RAYMOND WEIL are so excited to announce that Michael Buble will win the RAYMOND WEIL International Artist Award at the O2 Silver Clef Awards in support of music charity Nordoff Robbins.

As I explained in my last post RAYMOND WEIL have worked very closley with Nordoff Robbins over the last 11 years not only through the sponsorship of the International Artist Award but through the donation of special edition timepieces, including designs by Lemar and Jay Kay from Jamiroqui, which are auctioned off at the event.

In 2010 JB from JLS jumped up on stage and auctioned off his limited edition BRIT Awards watch raising over £10,000.  For this year's auction RAYMOND WEIL are donating the Union Jack BRIT Awards 2012 Freelancer watch and also a VIP night out to see Jessie J perform at the O2 Arena.

It's going to be an amazing star-studded afternoon on the 29th June at London's Hilton on Park Lane with further award announcements of Jessie J, (the Royal Albert Hall Best British Act Award), and Andrew Lloyd Webber the worthy winner of the Sony Mobile Lifetime Achievement Award.

Stay tuned as I will be updating the blog on the afternoon letting you know the latest from the award ceremony, who is wearing a RAYMOND WEIL watch and most importantly how much was raised for the incredible charity Nordoff Robbins.

Yesterday we met with music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins to confirm our sponsorship plans for this year's Silver Clef Awards which are to be held on Friday 29th June 2012 at London's Hilton Hotel on Park Lane.

This will be the 11th consecutive year RAYMOND WEIL have worked with Nordoff Robbins and sponsored the International Award for the Silver Clef Awards whose previous winners include names such as Swedish House Mafia, Foo Fighters, Bon Jovi, Kylie Minogue and U2 amongst others.

Nordoff Robbins is a national specialist music charity, helping through music therapy to dramatically enhance and in many ways save the lives of people who they work with and their loved ones.  Nordoff Robbins have 60 therapists who provide music therapy services to 100 organisations throughout the UK, amounting to over 50,000 music therapy sessions every year which are delivered in a variety of settings. The annual Nordoff Robbins Silver Clef Awards acts as the main fundraising platform for Nordoff Robbins, which already reaches out to so many.  As Nordoff Robbins receives no statutory funding, the organisation is solely reliant on fundraising income to support their work.

Last year I was able to visit the Nordoff Robbins centre in Kentish Town, North London, and saw for myself the amazing work and care they provide which transforms that lives of vulnerable people throughout the UK.  It was an incredibly moving experience and one that made me incredibly proud to be a part of the fundraising process.
